Acceptable Use Policy

Read Archive.London's acceptable use policy, published by 825 Ventures Ltd for visitors, researchers and image licensing enquiries.

Last updated: 19 September 2026

This policy governs use of Archive.London, its search, forms, restricted links, previews, metadata and technical services. It supplements the Website Terms of Use.

You must use the website lawfully

You must not use Archive.London to commit, encourage or facilitate unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or harmful conduct.

Prohibited technical conduct

You must not:

  • Attempt unauthorised access to systems, accounts, storage, masters or restricted files.
  • Circumvent authentication, rate limits, robots rules, watermarks or technical controls.
  • Scan or test security without written authorisation.
  • Introduce malware or interfere with availability.
  • Make automated requests at a rate or volume that burdens the website.
  • Spoof identity, headers, crawler names or referrers.
  • Harvest contact details or personal data.
  • Use rotating identities, proxies or other methods to evade restrictions.
  • Reverse engineer restricted delivery systems except where law expressly permits and the right cannot be excluded.

Scraping, extraction and machine use

Except for ordinary search indexing authorised by our crawler rules, you must not systematically scrape, crawl, copy, extract or aggregate photographs, metadata, captions, names, categories or records.

You must not use content to train, fine-tune, ground, benchmark or evaluate artificial-intelligence systems, create embeddings, perform facial recognition, build datasets or generate derivative imagery without a separate written licence.

Permission for an automated search crawler does not grant copyright, database or machine-learning rights.

Content and communications

Forms and contact routes must not be used for spam, threats, harassment, impersonation, malicious files, deceptive rights claims or irrelevant promotion.

Evidence submitted for a correction, privacy or rights claim must be obtained lawfully and should contain only information necessary to assess the request.

Image misuse

You must not publish or repurpose previews, strip rights metadata, remove watermarks, distort captions, create false endorsements or use photographs in misleading or harmful contexts.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected misuse, restrict traffic, suspend access, preserve relevant logs, require deletion, contact an organisation responsible for a user, notify service providers or authorities, and take legal action where proportionate and lawful.

We are not obliged to provide advance notice where doing so would compromise security, rights or an investigation.

Reporting

Report security issues or abuse privately to info@825ventures.online. Do not publicly disclose an unresolved vulnerability before we have had a reasonable opportunity to investigate.
